Luke Wood, president of Beats Electronics, will be joining Fender Music Group’s board of directors. Beats headphones are known for their sound, as well as their stylishness: they’ve been seen on hundreds of famous heads.
Wood began his career in 1991 at Geffen as director of publicity, working alongside Nirvana and Sonic Youth. He was later president of DGC Records, then Chief Strategy Officer at Interscope Geffen A&M. He signed bands TV on the Radio, All Time Low, Yelawolf, Jimmy Eat World, Elliott Smith and AFI.
A lifelong producer, songwriter and musician, Wood signed a publishing deal with Universal Music Group in 1996. He played guitar in the band Sammy, which released three albums. Wood’s guitar of choice? A Fender Jazzmaster, which he calls a “perfect instrument.”
Let’s hope that Luke Wood works wonders at Fender.
